Born and lived in
Philip Larkin was born on August 9,1922 and grew up in Coventry, Warwickshire, UK.
Family
He was the only son in the family and he has one sister. His parent were Sydney and Eva Larkin. His father
is the city treasurer of Coventry from 1922 to 1944. He is a very shy person who doesn't socialize much with other people.
Education and Work
Philip Larkin did not enjoy his high school years at King Henry VIII Grammar School in Coventry. In his
last year of high school, he wrote a school paper called, "The Coventrian" and around this time was when he had his first
poem "The Ultimatum" published in the National Weekly magazine. He was drafted into the military and was kicked out because
of his bad eye-sights. This is when he attended St. John's College, Oxford to study English. After he had three poems published
at Oxford in the "Oxford Poetry", he made friends with many people and this helped him overcome his shyness. Philip graduated
from college in 1943 with a First Class Honors Degree and found himself at a loose end. He was not accepted into the military
and does not have a job. He had his parent to support him until he can find a job. Soon he found a job as a Librarian of the
Wellington Public Library in Shropshire. He work there for three years and then move to the University College of Leicester
Library to work as an Assistant Librarian. He had some more poems published around this time. "The North Ship, A Girl in Winter,
and Lucky Jim" were some of his poetry novels. In 1950, Philip moved to Belfast to take post at Queen's University Library
and in 1955, he move to take the final post at Brynmor Jones Library at the University of Hull.
His life
Philip Larkin never got married. He died of Oesophagal Cancer at age 63, on December 2, 1985.
What inspired him
The things that he was inspired by was American Jazz and Adolph Hitler. Adolph Hitler was also one
of his father inspiration.

One of the greatest rapper of this time and somewhat resembles Philip Larkin is Lil Wayne. Because Lil Wayne
seems to talk a lot about what he sees and that is what most of Philip Larkin does with poet and that is what Lil Wayne does
with rap.
